Refresh!

Hello all. I am alive. Been extremely busy and very tired. I have also been extremely happy and overwhelmed by the derby community in my area.
There have been changes, but eveyone already knows about that and I won't say anything more about it.
I am extremely grateful to the legues in our area, and how wonderful they have been! First I will start with our neighbor league The Muddy River Rollers.
We had 3 girls from MRR come to our practice to show us a few tricks, and help us prepare for the upcoming season. Burn N, Brandy Swifter, and Sienna Killer. What awesome girls, and extremely intimidating players! There help and advice just blew us away. I'm sure they kept allot of tips and tricks to themselves, however the stuff they showed us was amazing, and so helpful in terms of what we need to know on the track. These girls are awesome skaters, and their confidence while on skates is something I hope to have some day!
Also, we are hosting our first bout this season, and Liz Nail'Her and Elle Frozen Over were kind enough to get us in to a mock bout so our ladies could learn what we need in terms of NSO's and all those details you forget on your way.
I cannot express how grateful we are to MRR! All the girls in the league have been busy singing their praises, and if you could have seen how quickly they came to our side to help, you would understand why.

Also, The Fog City Rollers!
Well, I finally got my chance to scrimmage, and man was it fun! These girls welcomed us to their practice and threw us right in. They gave us high praise and lots of awesome feedback from players and coaches that has really helped us in our practices. Skating in to their practice, there was no sense of not belonging, they instantly placed us with their girls, and at no point did we not belong, or were called "DRD", we were just part of the team, and worked with us on our strengths and weaknesses.  I had so much fun, and I know the other girls did to.

The Derby Love shown in New Brunswick over the past few weeks has been absolutely fabulous, and has really shown us how much this community cares for each other.
I myself had felt nervous considering stupid things I had done in the past. Something I did without thinking and have felt regret over since I stupidly made a blog entry without considering how my words would be taken. I was worried some of the girls may not want to deal with me because of this, and if they didn't, I had no one to blame but myself! However there was never a moment I felt any upset or anger towards me at all. Just kindness, and help in making me a better skater and player, and helping my league grow in a positive direction. I am very grateful these ladies were able to separate themselves from my poor choices, and assist me. It shows allot of character, and what great people they are.
So on behalf of myself, and all the girls at DRD, thank you thank you thank you for you help! All the leagues have been so wonderful, and we truly appreciate you!
