Hmmmmmm...
Seems simple. However I like to joke and be silly sometimes, okay most of the time.
Don`t give me that look!
You gotta know where and when though, cause when you`re doing drills and learning new stuff you gotta do it, and do it seriously right?
So we were trying something new, and I was joking and dancing and making funny faces to get by and make the other girls laugh which is fine. Then I read something.
Those tests we have to pass, well one of the things we have to establish is that we are not only able to pass the tests, but that we trying hard to learn and taking it seriously. Now that doesn't mean we can't have fun, because it is fun, but reading that little blip in the rules made a huge impact on me.
I would never want my coach, or my girls to think I wasn't taking this seriously, and that I didn't want this, because I really do. So tonight, as we were running the same drill, I toned down my silliness and did my best to show not only can I do this, and do it right, but that I was serious about it. Not to say I didn't make a few faces, but in my defense Vigilante Banshee started it. ;P
So while you're out there laughing, and joking with your girls, remember you are always being watched and there is a time and place, sometimes you have to take it in a bit.
I know I do.
It's allot easier to get passed the pack when you pinch their bums, trust me I know, I've done it. he he he. But you gotta be able to get past on based on skill and talent, and you're never gonna prove you can if you don't do it seriously. And honestly, that would never fly in a game, so make sure you can actually do it before you hit the track or you're gonna get hurt.
I love my girls, and I wanna be out there with them kicking some high firm derby bum, so in order to do that successfully I gotta be serious a bit more and make sure I have the skill.
